Tortoises floated for 24 hours in flood !

tonkaaaa poker Sheopur FOLSOM, La. (WGNO) — Last week’s rain and flooding damaged more than 600 structures in the western part of St. Tammany Parish alone.  Hundreds of people had to be rescued from their homes. Even more evacuated as the water began to rise.

lugar para namorar em sp Ijebu-Ode And the going wasn’t any easier — even if you could take your home with you.  According to the Humane Society of Louisiana, two tortoises were awakened from their winter hibernation by the rising, rushing water. Their owners couldn’t get to them.

hydroxyzine and gabapentin for sleep Saumur The two African tortoises, named Turbo and Bolt, live on a private animal refuge in Folsom. When the water eventually receded enough for the refuge’s owners to search for the pair, the tortoises were found floating with their noses above the water line.

owlishly fortune slots hslatortoise1 According to HSL Director Jeff Dorson, the owners believe the tortoises floated for around 24 hours while surviving the worst part of the storm.

Since their rescue, the pair has been living in a warmed and dry pen while eating lots of squash and leafy vegetables. According to the HSL, both tortoises are expected to be okay.

The Humane Society of Louisiana has spent significant time over the past few days visiting some of the flooded areas of St. Tammany Parish and assessing the needs of pet owners.
