Hoboken library to hold program with live turtles and tortoises
The Hoboken Public Library will host a program to discuss the habits and habitats of turtles and tortoises on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
Steve Woyce, turtle specialist, will bring live turtles and tortoises to the event and teach attendees about the turtles that reside in New Jersey.
« In the past we’ve had snakes, lizards and owls, » said Lois Gross, the senior children’s librarian at the Hoboken Public Library. « These type of events are very educational and, due to the wildlife, usually sold-out events. »
Tickets for the program, which are free and used mainly to monitor the number of seats available, will become available on April 3 at www.bccls.org. Only children require tickets to attend the event. In addition, attendees are not required to be Hoboken Library cardholders in order to attend.
The Hoboken Public Library is located at 500 Park Ave., Hoboken. For information call (201) 420-2346.
