The first sea turtles treated at the South Carolina Aquarium’s new sea turtle hospital will be released Wednesday morning at Isle of Palms County Park.

The public is welcome to watch the turtles return to the sea at 9 a.m.
Chum, a Kemp’s ridley turtle, and Marlin, a juvenile loggerhead, received about three months of care, some of which was at the aquarium’s Zucker Family Sea Turtle Recovery clinic that opened Memorial Day weekend.

Both were caught on fishing line hooks in April. Chum was hooked in Beaufort and Marlin in Myrtle Beach.
